Visual Storytelling from Film Sets to Social Feeds
Summary
Today’s creators aren’t choosing between “the big screen” and “the second screen” - they’re working across both. This panel explores how visual storytelling shifts across platforms and formats, and how three very different filmmakers pursue the same goal: crafting compelling images for a media landscape that’s rapidly reshaping traditional production, distribution, and viewing habits. From a 30-second vertical reel to a full cinematic sequence, we’ll examine what changes, what stays the same, what creators can borrow from each space, and what it all signals about the future of filmmaking.

"details": "DeCon is an ATL based Gaffer, DP and content creator with 15 years in the film and TV industry as a Gaffer working on television, movies, documentary and unspeakable amount of TV commercials. 4 ton grip & electric package owner operator. With a particular affinity for custom, welded and fabricated tools to pack out my truck with the most efficient lighting package imaginable. I pride myself on being a gaffer who shoots or, maybe, a DP who gaffs. One of the most advantageous feedback loops that enrich is my relationships with my DPS I gaff for and strengthens my work for anyone I shoot for. Whether it's my cinematography, photography or lighting work, this industry burns bright in my heart the same way it did when I was a kid. I'm a lifer. This is all I can do, all I will ever do and all I wish to do.",
