In 1989 he co-founded The Patrón Spirits Company, with a mission to create a \"simply perfect\" tequila, the first of its kind ultra-premium agave spirit in the U.S. Following the brand’s acquisition by Bacardi in 2018, John Paul became Chairman Emeritus. In 2023 he parlayed his love of tequila and spirits expertise into a new venture, joining the award-winning Bandero Tequila. Throughout his career, John Paul has made philanthropy his core mission and a mission of his businesses. He established JP’s Peace, Love & Happiness Family Foundation with his family in 2011 to expand his philanthropic giving and contribute to a sustainable planet through investing in people, protecting animals and conserving the environment.
