THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK,\rand CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, and DGA Award nominations for those films as\rwell as AMISTAD, EMPIRE OF THE SUN, THE COLOR PURPLE, and JAWS. He holds the record for\rthe most DGA nominations of any director and received the Guild’s Lifetime Achievement\rAward in 2000.",
