      "details": "Kelley Kali, a Los Angeles native and alumna of Howard University and USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, is an award-winning director, writer, producer, and humanitarian whose work spans Belize, Haiti, China, and the U.S. She launched her career with National Geographic before becoming the only woman selected to direct Belize’s first Creole dramatic series, earning the Paul Robeson Award. Her Student Academy Award-winning Lalo’s House and her Special Jury Award–winning SXSW feature I’M FINE (Thanks for Asking), now streaming globally and rated 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, earned international acclaim. She has since directed Jagged Mind for 20th/Hulu and the MPI/BET film Kemba, which screened at the U.S. Capitol and ignited national dialogue. Kelley received the Academy Gold Fellowship for Women, Sundance’s Amplify Award, and an NAACP Image Award nomination. She is dedicated to mentoring emerging creators and using cinema to elevate marginalized communities.",
