      "details": "Holly Herrick is a longtime champion of boldly innovative independent film. She currently serves as Head of Film and Creative Media at the Austin Film Society (AFS), where she has played a leadership role in the expansion of the organization since 2012, including overseeing over $2M in grant funds for Texas-based independent filmmakers and launching feature development programs, the AFS Intensives. In 2017, AFS opened the AFS Cinema, Austin’s only non-profit cinema, which is now a leading national art house. She leads the program for the Texas Film Awards and has contributed AFS programming to major international events, including AFS retrospectives at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival (2018), the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Premiers Plans Festival in Angers, France (2015-2018). Herrick's credits as a producer include oddball Sundance indie PING PONG SUMMER and the upcoming feature documentary FIRST THEY CAME FOR MY COLLEGE. In addition to serving on the advisory committee of SXSW, Herrick has participated on juries and awards committees nationally, including the Film Independent Spirit Awards. Herrick got her start at the Sarasota Film Festival in Sarasota, Florida, where she served for six years as Programmer and then Director of Programming. The festival honored her contributions with their SFF Award on its 25th anniversary in 2024. She served as Programmer and Deputy Programs Director at the Hamptons International Film Festival in New York (2008-2012).",

She was the Vice President of Development for DEF Pictures before joining SAGindie in 2002 as Festival Coordinator. Since becoming SAGindie’s Executive Director in 2006, Darrien has expanded the organization to reach more festivals and help even more creators on all platforms to bring their projects to fruition. She continues to travel around the world speaking on panels, mentoring writers and filmmakers, and championing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the entertainment industry.",
