Summary

Why do we watch sports? Because we see ourselves in the players. For decades, fan engagement has been built around access and attention. Now it’s being rebuilt around identity and participation. AI and XR are enabling fans to step inside the narrative — not just consume it. This session explores how sports and entertainment organizations can design participatory systems that transform fandom into shared authorship, cultural relevance, and long-term value.
