Summary

Jamison Wray is a genre-blending artist rooted in soul, shaped by struggle, and driven by self-expression. Raised between Virginia, Atlanta, and Gainesville, Florida, his childhood was marked by constant movement and instability. Guided by his hardworking mother, his Umi and Opa, and the legacy of his father, former world’s fastest man Timothy Montgomery, Jamison found peace in creativity. He wrote his first piano ballad at just three years old. By high school, music became his refuge, headphones serving as his daily escape from chaos. A natural hustler, he swept barbershop floors at eight and later cut hair under Mr. Leon’s mentorship. He also built experience in kitchens—from restaurants to nursing homes—finding purpose in serving others. Inspired by the emotion of Juice WRLD, the depth of Frank Ocean, and the boldness of Lil Uzi Vert, Jamison creates without genre limits, often compared to Uzi, Polo G, and Miguel. His 2019 breakout came when DJ Bnard played “White Buffalo” in the club. With dreams of global tours and major collaborations, Jamison makes music from a place of vulnerability, faith, and authenticity—because for him, music isn’t just art, it’s purpose.
